25MB
OF FREE WEB SPACE - BUILD YOUR OWN HTML WEB SITE
We
offer you 25MB of web space
completely free of charge.
To
setup your web space you will need to have registered for a free
sportshorse.net account and then click the Admin
button to access the SelfCare pages. Sign in with your account
details (email address and password) and you will see the SelfCare
control panel.
Step
1 - add Webspace to your account
You can add web space very easily. When logged into SelfCare click
on the SERVICES button. Then click on your Email Address
under Primary Account. Then click on SETUP WEB SPACE and
choose a Web space Password and a Webspace Directory. This password
will be used when you FTP files to your Webspace and the Directory
name will form part of the Web Address or URL of your web space.
You will then be taken back to the Main Menu and within a couple
of minutes you will receive an email providing you with all of
the details of your Webspace / FTP account.
Step
2 - upload your files
FTP is the method of transferring your files from your computer
to the Web Server and you need some software to do this. We recommend
either WS-FTP or CuteFTP (click the names to access the sites
to download). You will need to tell the FTP software where to
upload your files to, so start by giving it a memorable name such
as sportshorse.net Web Space. The FTP Servername is ftp.sportshorse.net. Your
username will be your primary email address @sportshorse.net and your
password is the one you chose above. You don't need to add anything
in the directory box but you need to specify the name of the FTP
Server which is ftp.sportshorse.net. Then click to connect and you can
start uploading.
Remember
that the first page that you want people to see must be called
either index.htm or index.html.
Step
3 - check your web site
When you have uploaded your site you can open a Web Browser and
enter your web address - all Web Space starts with http://www.{username}.sportshorse.net/
where {username} is the name you selected in step 1. For example
http://www.example.sportshorse.net
Assuming
your first page was called index.htm or index.html then it will
appear in the Browser.

You must be connected to sporthorse.net to access your @sporthorse.net
email and check you mail at least once every 30 days to maintain
the service.
